Services Explained

A warm welcome awaits you, plus the opportunity to stay for refreshments between the 9.30 and 11.15 Sunday services, and after Wednesday morning communion.

8.00 am    Holy Communion

This is a communion service in traditional language, from the Book of Common Prayer. It includes a short sermon, but no hymns.

9.30 am    More Traditional Service

With a clear but flexible structure provided by the Church of England’s Common Worship service book, this service provides an orderly environment for worship using the best of older and newer hymns accompanied by organ/piano and choir. Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

11.15 am  Informal Service

Offering a more relaxed environment and introducing more modern worship songs played by a music group, this service offers a more contemporary experience of worship. With children’s ‘items’ during the service and Sunday Club (Sonshiners) available most weeks, this aims to be a family friendly event and a comfortable ‘next step’ from 'Messy Church'. Communion is celebrated on 3rd Sunday of each month.

11.15 am  Cafe Church

With you and your children in mind we have created a family-friendly opportunity to explore faith, have fun and worship together. There are refreshments, doughnuts, activities, singing and crafts and the opportunity for adults to either chill out or get creative with their kids in a 'cafe style' environment. As part of the 11.15am ‘stream’ of services, Cafe Church takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month. Why not come along with your family and give it a try?

6.30 pm     Evensong

**An evensong is held each Sunday which rotates between Churches at Sway, Brockenhurst, Boldre and South Baddesley.  Evensong in Sway is generally on the 3rd Sunday of the month. To confirm the venue for a specific week, please check the church Calendar or contact the Church Office on 01590 682358.

Wednesday 9.30am   Holy Communion

Everyone is very welcome!  We hope that you will find a service that will help you to connect with God and be a blessing to others.
