SUNDAYS
WELCOME!!
Worship is offered in many forms at St Luke's including our traditional and modern Sunday Gatherings. Our prayer is that you will be drawn to worship, feel comfortable in the setting, receive a warm welcome and meet with the living God.
8.00 am Holy Communion BCP
Holy Communion using traditional language. This 40 minute service offers a quiet holy space at the start of the day and includes a short sermon, but no hymns.
9.30 am Traditional Service
With a clear but flexible structure provided by the Church of England’s Common Worship service book, this service lasts about an hour and provides biblical teaching and preaching with sung worship. We use the best of older and newer hymns accompanied by organ/piano and choir. Communion is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.
11.15 am Informal Service
We welcome children and families to this Informal gathering where you can refill your coffee and move around as you wish and children like to explore! We start with a focus on the children with a game, bible story and children's songs. Our music group then lead us in bible based intimate worship. Activities and groups are offered for the children most weeks during the adult talk. We offer a time for open prayer, sharing testimony and receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Private prayer for individual needs is always available. We celebrate holy communion together monthly every 3rd Sunday. Come along and give this service a try - stay for as long or as short a time as you wish. Coffee/refreshments on arrival and contimue through the service.
6.30 pm Evensong
Evensong - A reflective service using traditional language and led by a choir is held each Sunday and rotates between Churches at Sway, Brockenhurst, Boldre and South Baddesley. Evensong in Sway is usually on the 3rd Sunday of the month. At Sway there are also congregational hymns, a short sermon and a sung anthem. To confirm the venue for a specific week, please check the church Calendar or contact the Church Office on 01590 682358.
Wednesday 9.30am Holy Communion
