The Bible says that people are separated from God because of their desire to live in His world without Him.
And being apart from God means we can’t know the meaning, security, significance and purpose that we were created to have. We then spend our whole lives, in different ways, trying to find these things. The Good News of the gospel is that when we choose to allow God to be in charge of our lives and when we trust in what Jesus has done for us on the Cross (rather than what we have done) we can be reconciled with Him. Not only can we have a restored relationship with God – knowing Him as “Our Father” – but we find the meaning and significance that we had lost.
The gospel then continues to change us from the inside out as we become more like Jesus, enjoying the abundant life of freedom he came to bring, finding all that we need in Him and discovering that He alone is truly satisfying.
