Next Alpha course at St Luke's starts 10th September 2025 Over 15 million people worldwide have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world. The Alpha course, is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It’s relaxed, low key, friendly and fun. Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile. And it’s supported by all the main Christian denominations. What’s involved? Food, talk and good conversation... Food Whether it's a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It's no different at Alpha! Each session starts with food because it's a great way to build community and get to know each other. Talk The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long and delivered over about eleven weeks, they can be presented as a live talk or on video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity. Discussion Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in small groups. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you cant say (seriously). it's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. What are the topics? Week 1 10th Sept Is there more to life then this? Week 2 17th sept Who is Jesus? Week 3 24th Sept Why did Jesus die? Week 4 1st Oct How can I have faith? Week 5 8th Oct Why and how do I pray? Week 6 15th oct Why and how should I read the bible? Week 7 22nd Oct How can I resist evil? 29th Oct- no session - Half term Week 8 - Nov 5th Does God heal today? Alpha Day away day Saturday 18th October 2025 9.30-1.30 What will it cost?
